Longhood by-the-barn find

A similar story. Well, not quite a barn, but sometimes you get lucky. A friend spied this car a couple years ago told me about it. I'd visitted the owner a couple of times and decided it was time to try to work a deal. Sitting outside in Oregon for 8 years has taken a toll, but another wet winter wasn't going to make things any better.
The good news; it’s a basically complete '68 911 with chrome steelies. (4-1/2" x 15 date code 11/66.) The motor (from a '70 T) had recently been gone through according to receipts from '95. Car was parked in 2000 because a carb was flooding and the owner didn't want to have a fire. Trying to connect with past owners going back to at least '78. Fast forward to 2008....

The bad news; it has the typical rust-pans, rockers, one door and probably elsewhere. (jack tubes are solid-go figure?). It is on it's second color. Originally sand beige and currently mostly black. A couple small dings but seems to be very straight.

Will probably be searching for a more permanent home once I go through it in more detail.

Wow too bad it wasn't in the barn but a very cool find nonetheless!

Many miles outside J. City reachable without using any forest service, logging, or gravel roads.

Which means you're going to flip it.

The sad little car will trade hands eventually. Leaving her out in the field, the weather would seal her furture as being a parts car only. Hopefully, a loving home will be found by someone looking to take on a project and not part it out. For me a "flip" lacks emotional attachment.

Good point on that. But, if you intend to make more than money for your troubles, then it's business as usual. Emotions play no good role in business (most of the time, I'm different in that respect).

As mentioned, at least another one saved.
