AC Removal Tips Please
As the slippery slope gets steeper and slipperier, I have finally decided to take the AC out of my 1986 Carrera Coupe. I have the Bentley Manual and can follow the instructions, but I am looking for any tips or insight before I start the project. Does anyone have any helpful hints or tips?

If you remove the hoses, you'll get some refrigeration oil. Also, be prepared to plug the hole in the trunk pan where the condensor fan was. When you take your evap coil out, maybe think about relocating your battery in the smuggler box. It all weighs about 75 lbs. Its all good

Cutting the fittings off the hoses in the engine compartment will facilitate pulling them out (I didn't). I filled my hose clamp holes with JB Weld (matched my car color pretty well too). I cut a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole where the front condensor fan goes in the front trunk. If you have (much) R12 in the system, have a shop capture it for you. I'm probably missing something since it's been a few years, but basically just start at the rear and have at it
