Can I use Loyd's mats as my 4 piece carpets?
Ok so i think i found the leak in my car. I replaced my crappy door pockets that weren't securely fastened to the bottom of the doors, which let the vabor barrier come loose, and drop water into the cabin. I think this has stopped the leak. I pulled the one rear carpet out that was soaked and sopped up all the water with towels, and im currently washing and drying the carpet piece at the laundromat.
I noticed alot of plastic stuck to the bottom of the carpet in the shape of the floor, but apparently cracked to pieces. I think it may have been some kind of protective layering to prevent rust or something. My question is this, if i remove all 4 carpet pieces from my car, and clean up the floor and por15 it, can i just reglue Lloyd Matts in place? Or do i need an insulating layer under them? Can i do this with techequipment mats? Thanks

I took all the sound deadening off the floor of my car. I am using only my Loyd's mat on the drivers side for years.
