water leaking through door pocket mounting holes?
I have tried everything from new door seal, to window pressure and height adjustment, to new vabor barriers, checked drain weep holes, I even readjusted the striker plates. This did help some obvious leaks i found by the door striker area, but for some reason my driver side rear floor pan still gets soaked in heavy rain still!
One thought that recently came to mind, my door pockets are the cardboard pockets, but leather covered. The leather has tightened up and shrunk the door pockets, theres as much as a 1 inch gap from the door panel to bottom of door pocket in some places between mounting screws. This has made it almost impossible to secure the pocket to the door in at all the different mounting holes. The car was like this from when i bought it. Another clue is that i find a little bit of water in the door pocket as if there was a leak in the cab top, but that isnt the case here. It's got to be comming from somewhere in the middle of the door, at door pocket level or above. Anyone else expirience this? Any ideas?

Have you replaced your Door handle and opener seal? I had this as well and my rubber seal between the door handle and the body of the door was hard and cracked and actually made my door handle loose. I order a new seal and installed it and all was well. This was after I did everything that you did as well.

I have the same problem on my Targa, and I recently replaced the cardboard of the door with a laminate from Home depot that I cut to size on the model of the old one, and reupholstered by carefully removing the old leather from the cardboard. You can use the material that pegboards are made of. This is a nice week-end project. Need electric saw and electric stappler.
Now, I am able to secure the door pocket against the door. In my case, I think the water comes in from the upper corner between the window and the windshield, where the Targa seal has a little gap. Then, it drips along the egde of the door down to the floor. Good luck, Aurel

apply sealant in a circle around every hole that will pierce membrane, not just around outer perimeter
check that sealant is flexy replace old membrane eliminate gaps but... membrane seals that area -- press it down well over flexy sealant before panel is installed inspect window seals |

here how i found mine remove door panel close door get out garden hose and spray window down mine was running down the window channel and weeping through the panels. there is a mounting screw that holds said channel in place get some double sided sticky tape and a piece of plastic and make a cover cutting out only the needed hole a dab of clear silicone on screws and problem is solved, keep door drains clear and you shouldn't have a problem.
good luck cheers ed
