Fergus,

I see another issue to pay attention to: The caliper adapter bolts are too long (red arrows).

I would disassemble the struts and A-arms and check them in the Factory P284b for the steering arm, P286b for the spindle and P288b for the A-arm. The strut looks like it could use a through stripping and cleaning to bare metal. You should then carefully inspect for cracks or damage. This is particularly true of the spindle under the seal race and at the edge of the contact between the shock tube and spindle.

This might be the opportune time to relocate the spindles and add reinforcing gussets (green outline) between the spindle and shock tube.
