i need wheels, 964 conversion 17 18?
so i sold my fuch's, and my cup 2's not my car is on stands i need wheels ideas, i had 17x9 cup2's with spacers and i still have the spacers, i dont know what color centers i wanna run or style of wheels, the 9 inch cup 2's seemed like there was more room to run wider but research says i shouldn't? so post up ideas, not fuch's tho, if the car was stock maybe but im thinking a bbs type wheel? whats max with and offsets of wheels you can run on a nb, i dont mind modifying under the fenders also this car hardly gets driven so if it rubs a little under hard driving im not worried, and im not opposed to running some stretch on the tires
thanks a bunch tom http://usera.ImageCave.com/rtoms/angle2.JPG http://usera.ImageCave.com/rtoms/littlesmalllrr.JPG |
The car looked great w/ those wheels, why the change?
8 & 10 can be done but I am not comfortable w/ more than 8 & 9.5 for tires 245/275 can be used but again I'm not comfortable w/ more than 235/265 A nice set up for performance would be 235/40x18 on 8x18 ET ~26-31 265/35 x18 on 9.5x18 ET ~19 |
thanks ill use those numbers as a guide

Your asking for opinions so here's mine: You have a great-looking Porsche!!
Those wheels look 10 times better than any BBS wheels that I've seen. Why change wheels, just for the sake of change? If you think ugly honey-comb BBS's look better than those wheels, go for it. Looks are subjective :) |
I wanted a relatively light set of rims to replace the Cup 1's I had on my car. I ended up with the OEM 10 spoke 996 rims.

wow i like those wheels black what are the sizes
thanks tom |
Photos look great guys. On the low price end of decent wheels one can usually find take offs from boxsters about 7x17s and 10x17s. More modern 18 inchers are dearer. Some of the late 964s had smaller 6x16s and 7x16s that look the wheels on the red car. The boxster and late model wheels should fit on your older car with the spacers.

+1 - BBS wheel are the ugliest wheels I have ever seen (regardless of the color)!!! Yes, looks are subjective but it just makes me shake my head ... makes a $20K car look like a $3,500 piece of cr** IMHO. |
