FIA fiberglass bumper?
Anybody know of a f/g rear bumper for a SC that has the bumperetts molded in? A friend is trying to lighten the rear of his SC while trying to maintain a stock appearance for FIA purposes.

The stock rear bumper weighs next to nothing. It really does. Try losing the bumperettes. That's where the weight is.

Thnx Bill. I'm thinking he needs the "original look" for series compliance. I'm guessing you'd paint the f/g bumberetttes black, etc..

Depending on the fit, it's probable easier to pony up for the f/g. Dave at TRE says the piece in question was used to "update" early cars in the mid-70s.

AIR (American International Racing) makes bumpers from a mold takin off a stock bumper so it looks like a stock bumper.

I know the friend is trying to lose weight off the ass end (sounds like my GF), but the doors are a horendous weight.
I can hold a corolla door with one finger and a 911 door almost puts my back out. |
