Please point to the float bowl plug
 

Can someone upload me a pic and point to the outside float bowl plug on 71T weber carbs. Ill upload a photo if necessary

What is injecting into the manifolds?

Float bowl plugs are the two 10mm hex head brass bolts. See item #64 on the attached link to an exploded drawing of the Weber. http://www.performanceoriented.com/Carb.htm

To check float levels you will need a gauge and screw it into the hole where the float bowl plug was. Mind the gas that runs out. I modified my float gauge (see picture) to collect fuel during adjustment of the float valves without continued fuel loss.

Set fuel level to have the meniscus between the two upper lines, fuel height between these two lines is equal to about 0.010" change in shim thickness. Engine should be very warm before final setting and you need to take readings while the engine is running. Fuel pressure should be in the 3.5 to 4.5 psi range. New floats are a good thing to have as well. Sometimes the floats wear little divots on the lever arms on the floats themselves which may cause sticking. That's where I tapped the manifolds for vacuum so I could run my power brakes. This instalation was on a 1978 SC.

Interesting setup. Can you explain how you would lose fuel while the PMO gauge is attached? Do you mean if the float level is too high and overflows from the top of the gauge?

If the fuel level is above the top line I unscrew the valve (brake bleed screw) and lower the fuel level so I can reset the shim stack under the float valve.
