Self tapper or machine thread on this?
Found I had a missing AC hose clamp just under the drivers side foot well, got another clamp but I can't figure out whether to use a self tapper or a metric machine threaded screw in this? I don't want to tear up all my carpet to find out.
For perspective I circled the jacking point and the two bolts that hold the throttle pedal in place. My car is an 88 targa. The hole for the clamp has grease around it so you can spot it easily. Thanks! ![]()

All the hose clamps I've found have been secured by self-tapping sheet metal screws. Even factory hard lines are fastened by self-tapping, but into brackets tack welded under the rockers. The only machined fastener was the stud for the rear clamp for external hard lines, found in the right rear wheel well.
