Simple spacer question Fuch 7/16

86 3.2 Carrera running four 7/16s all around /205-55-16 Front 225-50-16 rear.

What are the ideal spacers sizes I can use to enhance 2 or 4 corners look/performance without needing longer studs or risk steering/ rubbing issues?

This has got to be an ancient question that has been tough to ferret out a straight answer using search.

Appears to be 21mm or less.

I'm running 35mm adapters in the rear, 225's on 7" Fuchs. I've run the car at autox and the track, no rubbing issues. Car is stock, fender lips rolled.

I have 911 8's with 245/45 and 21mm spacers, longer studs. seems to be the max that I can fit, but I rolled the rears and have -2.4 deg camber.
I'm no expert, but 7's with 225/50 should fit with the 21mm spacers.

So at 21mm (.8") in the rears, this should be like running almost 8" wheels but spacers at this size are 10 hole adapters. Is this right? So it would seem that fronts could easily take 10mm without issues then and still have adequate stud length.... reasonable?

At 35mm rolling required, but 21mm adapters may even work in the fronts.... ya think?

21mm spacers(5 hole) will work on the rear, but you'll need longer studs, 65mm comes to mind. 35mm adapters(10 hole) will work on the rear, it looks like a tight fit, but it works. I don't know off hand if 21mm adapters are available. A Fuchs 7" has a 23mm offset, works/looks just fine on the front without the need for spacers or adapters.

wow, 35mm adapter is 1.38" I bet it looks tight, Not interested in rolling so a tad less should work without mods and looks like 21 is safe for sure. Thanks

So 21mm will require longer studs or adapters which are club no no's.
The goal is to see if the slightly wider wheelbase is a benefit for my daily driver as well as cosmetic for the rear arches. Not interested in rolling or restudding so less than 21, maybe a 13 or 10 would work without new studs?

Is it even worthwhile at this point? Someday making room for bigger brakes would make sense. What would be a good size in anticipation for that while not having to re stud? Just curious. Pitfalls?

Adapters are fine if you don't go Club Racing. I've used them for years without any problems. Their only downfall is not being able to check the torque on them with the wheels mounted.

I have 26 mm adapter on 225's on 7" Fuchs.....no problems noted.
