Brake caliper fastener question
Hi all.
I have 4 KAMAX and 4 DERA caliper attach fasteners for my '69 911T. I believe a set of 4 came off the rear and the other set came off the front. They are nearly the same, but the KAMAX are threaded all the way to the head and the DERA have a 4 or 5 mm shoulder. I think the DERA came off the rear, but I didn't document it. Any input? Thanks, Bill (I included some pic of the calipers since I spent so much time on them!) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My 1968 rear calipers (S type) are laying in front of me getting new seals and my bolts are neither of the ones you show. Mine are marked GRAEK4, and possibly more important they are also marked with "10.K" which is equivalent to an SAE grade 8. However, they do not have threads on the entire length of the bolt, if that's any help.

That should not make any difference. It is just the manufacturer difference. Normally I would expect to see a higher grade though.

Thanks guys
I agree it's likely that they were interchangeable parts during the factory build. As to the bolt strength, it may be due to the fact that they are "solid rotor" brakes - not sure. I plan on putting the DERA on the back and the KAMAX on the front.
