Transmission oil refill
Will 1 gallon suffice for a transmission fluid change on a '78 SC?

I believe it takes about 3 Liters (ROW lingua).

1 Gallon will be more than enough.
And a hint - make sure you can remove/open the fill plug before you drain the existing fluid!
