46 MM webers to big? Weber guru needed.
I bought a project car that has 46 MM webers on a 2.7 911 S motor that had cis on it. So this is a "late" S motor. Would it be possible to use these carbs or are they just to big? Here is the "kicker", I am at 4500 ft elevation. I'm planning a rebuild so I can make some changes but want to leave it a 2.7. Any help would be appreciated. Also if they will not work I might want to do so trading!

I would say that they're too big - I had a 2.4S engine which had been upgraded to a high compression 2.8 twin-plug & found that 40 IDA's were more than adequate.

Looks like I'm on the hunt for 40mm carbs. Anybody got some PMO's to trade?
