Leakdown test
Hi gents, very new to my 1987 3.2 targa. Runs great, sw chip, kn drop in filter, straight pipe into Bursch muffler. Before my purchase the seller had a leakdown done on sept. 19 2008. The results, cyl-1@4% cyl-2@6% cyl-3@6% cyl-4@8% cyl-5@6% cyl-6@6%. Can anyone advise if these are good results, thanks.

I think those are excellent results! The closer the numbers are to 0% the better. Assuming the test was done properly, it's usually hard to get much better then 3%-4%.

The #'s should all be under 10% for your car, and within a 5% pt spread. I'd say those numbers are excellent. However, if I were the prospective buyer, I would have to have an independent perform a PPI (PrePurchase Inspection) with compression and leakdown, in order to verify the claimed #'s by the owner.HTH
