need help with "plumbing" footwell blower

I have spent most of the last two days alternating between the search engine and crawling under my dash ... I have an 85 911 coupe. While troubleshooting another gremlin I found the passenger side footwell plumbing disconnected and the air hose from the AC was "shot". I am confused on how to reconnect the hoses. There is a single "y" connector and it looks like three possible leads. One is from the footwell blower, one from the side vent and the third looks like it might go to the dash vent. It looks like a hose from the AC goes to this general area also. Here is a picture of the problem area ... one dark "lead" looks like it goes to the dash, the yellow "lead" comes off of the fw blower and there is another dark 'lead' just out of the picture that goes to the side vent.

Any help in understanding the plumbing would be greatly appreciated.

Kiwi,
I not sure how the 85's route A/C thru the bulkhead but it appears that the A/C duct is the black metal tube you have circled. That duct is connected to the side vent on the dash. The heated air from the footwell splits and the small plastic duct is also sent to the side dash vent. There should be a wye connector that allows the two ducts to mate to the side vent. Hope that is of some help.

Thanks Ron ... I had found one of your earlier posts on wiring the footwell blower that helped. If I follow you correctly I should route a hose from the footwell blower (yellow plastic) and one from the black metal tube to the "wye" connection and then to the side vent. That seems to make sense.

There is still a hose from the bulkhead which appears to be AC. I think this hose somehow comes off of the the evaporator in the smugglers box. It is 36mm diameter and ~ 15 inches long. It was connected at the bulkhead (pita to get to)and then routed to the area of the "wye" connection. Does it sound familiar?

I am thinking a PO may have done some creative rearranging with the air hoses or when I had the dash redone they disconnected the "plumbing" and didn't get it back the right way. Any ideas on what to do with this "last" hose?

There should be a long hose that feeds the center dash vent. On my 78 it comes from an odd shaped manifold in the center of the trunk behind the fiber board.

That sounds like the same one. One end attaches at the center bulkhead location. Where does the other end connect?
