Project 911 is Back
I just got my door panels from Tony at Autobahn. They're beautiful. I'm hoping to install them next week. I've got a friend who has a perfect 911S who's going to help me. The obsessed with perfection and I need that kind of help.
In the meantime I've posted an article from the February 1992 European Car that summarizes what I did to the car back in the last century. We had very few aftermarket parts back then and no one was even thinking about the R Gruppe thing. We got a lot of help from Automotion and Yokohama in putting this project car together. I've just posted some more of Project 911 from 1992. It's got a lot of "old school" handling and brake stuff. Remember all of this was done before any of even thought of R Gruppe stuff. H*ll, it was done years before Elephant Racing existed. We have so many more choices today.

I remember those articles. I'll bet I read each installment 3 or 4 times. I'd read 'em, go out to my tiny converted carport garage, look at my '66 912, and think...jeez, I wish I could afford to do this or that.
Speaking of garages, last Friday we got all the preliminary permits bought off for my new garage, so I just ordered your garage book. I'm expecting great insights into building my dream garage.

You're way too kind. I hope the garage book meets your expectations.
I'm excited about getting back to the 911. The past few years I've been just using the car around town and short trips. It needs a few cosmetic items. The tough thing was to decide what exactly I wanted to do with the car. Back in 1992 it was just another used Porsche. Now it's a really nice almost original narrow body car. More Project 911 stuff is available. I just put an article about brakes on line. While a lot has changed since 1992 brakes are still pretty much the same for the old narrow body cars. Pad materials have changed a great and we can now put 6-piston calipers on the front of the car but it's still all about physics. 1992 Brake Article
