H4 lamp upgrade for '85 911

I bought H4 blue Xenon-type bulbs and when I went to install them this afternoon, found I have H1 bulbs! Is there an adapter sold to change from H1 to H4 fairly easily or do I need to change over to the H4 full unit. Thanks for the help. The archive does not like my Safari browser today so I could not search it.

The H1 Housing is different from the H4 Housing. If I may suggest, get the correct bulb in the HID look (Xenon Type) PIAA's Extreme Whites or Sylvania's Silverstars (Cheaper plus $15 rebate right now) they are both rated at 4000 Lumens ( the Highest available ) Sylvania Makes the Ultra that emits 4100 Lueuns but I have not found H1's.

Both products have the blue tint but emits white light at 55 watts.

Note a blue color bulbs will emit less light even if at 100 watts.

H4 Upgrade

From host's store

Hella H4 Halogen Headlamp Upgrade Kit, 2 req per car, Each

Will this kit allow me to move up to H4? How about the 100 watt bulbs? Is the higher wattage relay helpful?

Thanks,

Greg

Anyone used this H4 upgrade kit?

relays are always a good idea on the headlight circuit.

I ran H-4 Narva 130/100w with relays.

H1s are incredibly rare and are a very hot commodity on the early"s" boards. A friend of mine recently paid over 1k for a used set of H1s in excellent condition to put on his 69 E.

How about telling him I have an unmollested never rebuilt 1969s engine that had chain tensioners fail in a 1970 track event. What does he think it's worth?

good stuff

Greg,
Are those H1's off your 1985 Carrerra? I may be interested in buying them if you are interested in selling.
