cabriolet top seal question

I was looking at a 993 cab and noticed the the seal around the windshield and both doors is a single piece of rubber. I compared it to my seal which is different. My 964 seal is three separate pieces. One piece that goes around the windshield and A frame and 1 separate piece for the door surround (x2 driver and passenger). Here's my question. I know people have used the newer 964/993 windshield seal in older 911s but has anyone tried using the 993 single piece cab seal on a 964 or 911 cab? While being more expensive I think it might provide a better seal to keep water out...then again I'm talking about keeping water out of a cab... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
