Question Mystery wire connectors

I was cleaning up the engine bay to do a valve adjustment, when I noticed this pair of wires. They had obviously contacted and burned into each other at some point. I can't tell where they should go. Those are barrel connectors on the end. The ends were tucked down under the warm up regulator. One is red/white or red/yellow. The other is brown.

The P.O. had removed the cruise control unit in the rear. Could it be from these?

Either I'll replace the ends and connectors, or I'll just cut and tape.

So, what are they?

A lot of people have asked about those and I've never seen an answer. They used to be in a black plug that is apparantly missing on yours. That's why they made contact with each other. One side is hot and the other is ground. Most cars I've seen had this plug taped back on itself to the harness unused. I suspect this is the case with yours except the plastic plug is missing. I'd tape or heat shrink the ends and not worry about them.

Here you can see what the plug looks like.

Those look like the wires that go to the heater blower fan.
