Ignition wires? again
About to decide on new wires for my 1987 3.2 Targa, any ideas, oem are a little pricey! Any good alternatives? Magnacore maybe.

I put a set of Magnacores on my 88 recently and so far they have worked out nicely.

Clewett makes good wires I've had them on my SC for about 2 years now no issues.

Agreed on the Clewett's, I'm running the same.

Do the Clewetts need to have the wire holders drilled out like Magnecores?

Not in my experience, they were plug & play.

You can get the smaller O.D. Magnacore wire sets, and you don't have to drill the holders. I still have a brand new set in the box, that I bought when they had some kind of promotion sale... too cheap to have passed on buying them. They are still resting in their "home" until I actually need them. I bought the 8.5mm reds, but from what I can tell about them, they look like some pretty decent wires. Good luck!! Tony.

The smaller diameter Magnacores are black (I believe) but a little harder to find. I ordered the 8.5mm red ones from our host and they are working fine. The coil wire had a different plug that didn't fit so I used the old one.
I'm not into bling so I tried some black rubber dye on the wires but it didn't take. I did split the black rubber sheath around the factory setup and wrap it around the wires as they go across the fan shroud. It looks reasonable.
