misfire then ran ok - need Stabil + Techron?

my 89 3.2 has been sitting not being used much over the last 5-6 months...
The other day I went to take it out and blast up the road I like... to heat up the engine and clean out old gas.. there was a misfire, right at startup, for about 1 minute and then went away. I figure it was a gummed up injector... Anything wrong with running Stabil and Techron for the time being? I don't think I have a smog check coming up... I've read on here to not risk CA smog check with Stabil.. so I'll follow that if/when the time comes.

Thanks.

I'd go with the Techron...then a long drive to run it through, clean things up, and empty the tank.

Don't do any Stabil until after the smog check. But after the check, yes, if you're going to have the same gas in the car for 6 months, it wouldn't hurt.

Your in Cali, run the car once in a while. Even just start it up and let it idle and warm up. My car had misfires or hesitation when I first bought it. I checked O2 sensors, reference and speed sensors, all fine. In the end, a little techron and using it fixed the problem.

Injectors like to stick shut when you don't run the car for a while. I would just run it. There is no need for any additives or cleaners IMHO.
