MAP Sensor with Webers?
The Electromotive XDi2 system I am using allows for the use of a MAP sensor to provide more accurate timing adjustments. I am also using Webers for my intake, which means I have no centralized intake manifold to tap for the MAP sensor. So the question is, where can I place a MAP sensor with a Weber setup? I have seen Individual Throttle Body (ITB) setups which have all TBs tapped and vacuum tubes run to a single collection point where a MAP sensor is placed, but I was hoping to avoid that. One of my Weber intakes is tapped for the brake booster, but I would assume trying to run a MAP sensor from a single TB is not a good idea (too many pulses). Did some searching here but most people using MAP sensors are doing so with either a modified OEM FI system or ITBs.
I could always use the system without the MAP, thus having the advance function behave like a simple mechanical advance (which is how my distributor was configured), but I would like to take advantage of the MAP if possible. I'll ask Clewett as well when I order the rest of the system and see what they say. Any suggestions? thanks, Frank |
