Post oil line - 82' SC

Hi all, I need advise on the removal of the hard oil line that goes from the engine to the thermostat. It seems that while trying to remove the line closer to the thermo, I bent the oil line closer to the engine. Its not completly closed off, but now I contemplating on replacing the line. Is it possible to remove the line without removing the heat exchanger? If so, what are the recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Ruben
