Seriously, that's his real name? :D How often do you think he got beat up at school? :( Don't me a middie-hater Rob! |
"Rob Sass" if that is his real name just regurgitated the typical mid year crap. He did it with such authority. My problem is the errors negate a lot of his credibility.

Then rob bemoans the meager hp differences 911 vs 911s. Well Porsche didn't sell a 911 in 1975 only 911S' His point about the rear bumper isn't right either. He is getting warmer. Most 911S' sold in the us did have the bigger rear bumpers His "facts" that he has scrolled across the screen during the video list transmissions as 5sp manual or 4sp sportmatic. What about the 4 sp manual? Wasn't the sportmatic a 3 sp? The interior. well the seats obviously have horrible covers on them thats right. but the rest looks like anniversary edition to me. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228432518.jpg To close this thing out. I thought it would be fun for all of us (many of you that know more than I do out there) to nitpick his video after he so unapologetically nit pick our car. |
I think his condescending manner , his narrow mind and fat face should do him in..
' What do you get when you cross Arrogance with Ignorance ?? A CAR salesman / men. LOL |
peon - got any closeups of that interior material?

Every one gets their 3 minutes of glory......there went his !!

They are stil 911's
Like any 911 purchase ,do your homework which will include a proper PPI. A lot of driving pleasure for the buck can be found in a mid-year.

I've enjoyed my mid year for 20 years. Just remember to get that PPI and find out all you can about the engine and upgrades.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228496023.jpg

The ignorant "mid-year bashing" stopped a long time ago. All 911's have the potential to be amazing cars including the 1974-1977 vintages.
A few weeks ago I saw an absolute time warp, bone stock, mint condition, mid-year 911S finished in Silver with the Silver Anniversary tweed interior. It was parked in the business district of my town. I live in SoCal, so, I get an eye full of expensive and rare Porsches on a weekly basis, but I can tell you this car was nothing short of STUNNING. It belonged to an executive from the Heil Corp. I would say it was one of the most appealing 911's I have ever seen. Mike |
i bought a 1974 911 2.7 and after a year i am more than happy with the sound ,performance and the looks.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228504108.jpg

since this thread has gone on so long, maybe someone would like to list each year (and region, i.e. Calif.) and the potential problems in one handy table?
there are some very experienced people who own '74s BTW |
I have a 74 Targa. I did a very high quality rebuild on my 2.7 several years ago and it is a very strong and reliable engine. I specifically wanted a 74 or 75 because it would be smog exempt and I loke the lean look of a narrow body. That way when I did my rebuild I could go to town.
My current project is that I got a pair of black leather boxster seats at a great price and I am installing those. Very comfortable over the 30+ year old stock seats. I do a lot of drives with our local chapter of the Porsche Club and I never have any problem at all keeping up. In fact I always run with the fast drivers at the front of the pack. Here's a picture of mine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228511624.jpg |
