Adjusting the Hargett.....
Well, brought the car to work this morning so I could spend lunchtime adjusting this shifter....made it 2/3 of the way when the keeper allen bolt fell out on the nosecone end...stuck a bolt in it and ducktaped it and limped in in 3rd gear....
Now I think I have 1st, 5th and Reverse.....not sure...any tips appreciated...

That same bolt came out of mine a couple of times.... Tack welded the joint to the shift shaft now.... Yep, gonna be some grinding if the trans needs to come apart but only a couple mins worth.....
Cheers

I used loctite on mine. If you choose the Red one, to remove the screw you might need to heat it up to loosen the loctite.

I spoke with Mark at Hargett, seems I was overdoing the adjustments, I didn't realize how hairtrigger this thing is!!!
I really like it.... Thanks Jeff...tackwelding after adjustments sounds perfect!

I had the same happen and used the loctite (blue stuff). The rear coupler adjustment is a sensitive one for sure, especially with the short throw precision lever unit. I had to remove mine temporarily for strengthening of the tunnel area, it was flexing so much that on the track it would not allow 4th to 3rd shifts on my 911 box. I am going to have my water jet guy cut out some plates that will disperse the load from the shifter to a greater area on the tunnel and possibly wrap around the side edges. I think the plate could simply be placed between the tunnel and shifter without bolts and still do the job. The front to back flexing is more of an issue in my car than lateral side to side. Would anyone be interested in one of these? Im not looking to make money here, its just making 10 or 20 is just as easy as making 2 or 3.

I actually welded a brace to the tunnel that comes up and bolts to the bottom of the shifter. No more flexing!
I think clints idea is probably a better fix. Cheers

Clint,
I would be interested. Mine is for the 930 but the tower design looks the same. Oh yeah, before I locktighted mine I lost reverse attempting to leave work. Pretty embarrassing pushing a guards red turbo out of my parking stall. JP
