How do you test a Aug air Valve

I have a spare Aug air Valve and I would like to be able to test it.

Can anyone tell me?

Please

Lorne M.

Two things:

1. Using a multimeter, measure the auxiliary air regulator's resistance in ohms by probing the two connectors. It should be something like 33K.

2. Apply 12 volts (carefully) to the AAR and monitor how long it takes for the disk to rotate and close the hole. It should be something like five minutes.

Thanks I understand that part I was looking to test the aux air valve, not the regulator, but thanks for that other info I couldn't remember the ohms value for the reg's heater.

Thanks again Lorne M.

I apologize for not reading your initial post closer. I'm not sure what the test of the auxiliary air valve would be. The way I understand it, the auxiliary air valve, or AAV, is there to provide an extra bit of air on start-up, which is then eliminated by ongoing engine vacuum.

So, I'm guessing you could check it by drawing a vacuum on one or another of its ports with a hand-held vacuum pump to see if it, indeed, sucks.
