Help please with verification of leather color - code "VX" 1984 911
The sticker in the warranty books shows paint code L655 and interior code "VX".
I cannot find a sticker in the trunk. I can't find a reference to the "VX" code. After searching some threads with photos, I believe it is "Champagne" but would like to verify, because these threads did not reference a code. Thanks in advance. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228594152.jpg |
That's grey-beige full leather, the same color as my '86. Grey-beige was only offered in '83, '84, and '86.

Hi Dave-
If it is not too much trouble, could you please verify that your code is also VX? (either off the top of your head or by reference to the sticker). I just want to be sure that the photo/lighting/monitor is not playing tricks on you. I plan to order covers from inlandimports as soon as I am sure of the color. Thanks in advance. |
If these colors are anywhere near correct grey-beige is definitely not it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228596499.jpg

My code is QX, which is Grey-beige partial leather. The full leather code is VX.
Champagne was a special order color, and the codes for that are 75, 76, 77, 87, 88, and 89. The specific code depended on the color of carpet, roofliner, and dashboard/sills/rear shelf that the owner ordered along with the Grey-beige leather. I have a couple of books that contain every exterior and interior code option for all 911's from 1974 thru 1989. |
Those colors are probably correct, but the photo that you see depends on the lighting in which it was taken. You can't trust the photo to look the same as your upholstery in person. I assure you, your interior is grey-beige. The photo of your interior is EXACTLY the same as my car.

Thanks for your help Dave!
