fuel issues any suggestions?

I start out by saying I have been trying to use the search function for several days and it seems to not be functioning.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions. I have a 1971 e with MFI that had been sitting for several years due to previous owner parking for oil leaks.

I replaced and cleaned lines tank, new injectors, brakes , brake lines and oil tubes and seals. She fired up and all was well. So i thought.

She wont go above 2500 - 3000 rpms and starts starving for fuel. We put on fuel pressure guage and it starts dropping as rpms go up. She will cruise around the block fine but as soon as you start trying to get on freeway ect she starves herself out and cuts out. We have checked all lines. Pump is pumping well ect. Dont know what to try next. As soon as i get this figured out i will start on the cosmetics but this has been stumping block for month.

Thanks again. We will be attempting again tomorrow and looking for suggestions. Will report back with outcome.

Don,

911s have a screen inside the fuel tank at the pickup. It is removable/replaceable. Did you clean or replace the screen inside the fuel tank?

Is your fuel filter plumbed correctly. There is an error in the factory manuals. Do a search and look for posts by Grady Clay. He posted the corrected plumbing. Try terms like: fuel MFI and filter

Good!

FWIW-There are many threads on this topic. I suggest you look at them all before you start to prevent your chasing your tail.

fuel issues

It turned out to be the filter. Several pumps and lots of work. We blew air thru it several times seemed to have pressure fine when at idle behind it ect. Removed and replaced most lines ect. Removed it and thru in a f150 inline and its fine. Feel pretty stupid that i checked but not replaced. Just still very rich.

Now the bad news as soon as that was fixed it is now spewing oil back out of the oil cap filler.

Ugh... never ending.....
