Cant get trunk shock nut off
New front Bilstein shock in boge strut. I think gland nut is loose causing a rattle or I have a defective insert. Didn't have special Bilstein tool and used a pipe wrench on the gland nut. The trunk nut loosens but then the shock threaded top spins so I can't get the nut all the way off. There is a small indent in the shock threaded top in trunk. How can I hold the trunk threaded shock top while loosening the nut? Want to then push the shock down to get at the gland nut. Thanks in advance. Frustrating doing jobs twice!

I just put Bilsteins in my 87 a few weeks ago. To tighten, I used a pipe wrench to grab the edge of the big 3 inch wide washer below the nut. The washer is keyed into the slot on the bilstein, so it keeps it from rotating while you tighten the nut...
