Looks like a Sanden 507.

I understand that alot of people were not happy with the factory York(?) model that came with the cars. I saw comments that they did not perform well and in some cases altered the idle.

Is this model better?

The York is a piston type compressor whereas the Sanden is a rotary type. I am not an A/C expert but I believe the rotary is better because of the lack of reciprocating parts. I installed a complete system a year or so ago and am using a Sanden compressor, I have not had any problems with it. I am sure some one will add to this today.

Thanks for the feed back, when I purchased the car, the AC was missing. I came across the Sanden for $60 and purchased it.

At the time, I was not aware of the AC issue/history, but thought for $60 it was worth it.

What part of SD are you in?

The Sanden is NOT a rotary style compressor. It is a wobble plate compressor. It is a much better compressor than the original York and uses much less power to operate. It basically is a 5 piston pump if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the info; I am going to keep the one that I purchased and check in to the pro cooler in order to enhance. I found it at the following link

32 degree vent temps with r134a???? yup....

Although I am in San Diego (slightly inland) and do not experience the same heat and humidity as TX or other states, the temp can get up there.

I do not want being sitting in my cab with business clothes when it is 90 outside.

I do have a little time to get this taken care of as it is Winter here

See! I told you I am not an expert. Noted, wobble plate. I am in Mira Mesa BTW, You say slightly inland like maybe Alpine or Lakeside? I will PM you my number.
