Factory ac?
On a 71. Was there such a thing? Was it always dealer installed? The reason I ask is because I just pulled out the under dash unit and noticed I do not have an ash tray. It is a filler piece that looks like an ash tray. All the other cars I have seen with ac, the under dash unit just covers up the ash tray. How can you tell?
Also, is there a factory loudspeaker? I was told by the PO mine is factory. It's just a ~6x6x3h box screwed into the rear parcel shelf. With the dash speaker, the radio is actually stereo. I am sending for the COA but curious if anybody knows. ![]()

Porsche did not ship the cars with AC (they thought it was silly to have it on a sports-car) but they had a "factory" add-on system that was installed when the cars came over. I've been told the dealer installed them and I've also been told that the AC was installed at the Port.
