Another broker shooting for the moon. I've got $10 that says it's naturally aspirated.

That used to be "the thing" to do back in the early 80's... Much like people today make long hood replicas from short hood cars, which I really don't understand to this day... I doubt he'd ever get that price, as you can pick up a REAL 1st generation 930 for less than what he's asking for this. I must admit that I had one similar to this as well. It was a completely bastardized car, but fun none the less. Mine had 7&9x15 Fuchs, a 2.7 with 44 webbers, headers/muffler. I was pissed when I had to part with it, as my intentions were to make it a track rat! It had real 930 steel fenders in front & back. Would have been perfect for stuffing some 9's in front, and 10's in the rear. 280hp for a 3.0 might be a bit inflated. This could be a fun track car, if it could be had for less than 15k. With those fat fenders, you could stuff some serious wheels/tires in there...
Here's a couple of pics of my old beast, which IMHO looks way cleaner than the one mentioned for sale... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

That's correct Patrick.. there were many tarted-up 69-73 911s posing as SC or Turbos back in the day. In the early 80's 911s were not as plentiful and accessible as they are today. If you were fortunate enough to get one, then some just had to have the new/current look.. what we know of today's aftermarket was really spawned of these conversions. Now on the other hand, he's out of his mind at that price. Though I'm sure it's a tuff situation for the seller because if it was done by Stoddard as stated.. then I'm sure it was done to great detail and correct standards.

Well I can understand how in their day, owners took a long hood and made a short-hood out of it? What I don't understand is the part about him calling it a "73 930 Replica" when there was no such thing as a 930 in 1973. Isn't a replica supposed to be a copy of something that actually existed.
I also agree with the above comment about it likely being naturally aspirated - a very large detail left out of the ad.

I've posted this before but it's the perfect example of long hood bastardization, 72 sporto, non sunroof coupe with 3.2, flares, replica turbo wing, interior out of a carrera, SC/Carrera suspension, bumpers, doors, purple paint, the list goes on. I especially like the maroon interior color with the plastic gold Carrera script glued to the glove box door and the original guages custom painted to match the car at Hollywood Speedo back in the day. I was going to make a track rat out of it, now sitting after I bought a completed car instead. My son and I are planning to work on it this winter. I have a friend who keeps telling me he's going to buy it and "backdate" it. We'll see, it deserves to be saved, pretty rust free but all indications that it's a 72 are gone except for the oil door

The rear wing looks like a DP knock off. The rest of the car looks off too. I also doubt that Porsche sold the first owner a tub with Vin number as he claims, not to mention you could not buy a 1973 Vin number in 1983. Stoddard is also not a manufacturer so getting that hing registered in 83 had to be a trick. 280 rwhp out of a 3.0 sure pal.
Gee if you closed your eyes it would be just like being back in 1973........ on Mars
