Could someone confirm something abt this car for sale please

F/s 1969 porsche 911t coupe. Sand beige/tan on houndstooth 75,900 miles

#1. Thats not sand beige. Correct? Should be MUCH darker.
#2. Were rockers painted black like that in 1969?

Im restoring a sand beige 69 so Im curious.. the scraps of sand beige left on my car look NOTHING like that.

That certainly does not look like sand beige to me. Looks much more like light ivory or some other variation on white.

I have a 69T, completely original except a few small things. The rockers on my car are not painted black. If you look closely, it seems like the bumper deco on the rear is nothing more then a strip of electrical tape, or painted on. The front bumper also is clearly not original to the car, and it almost looks fiberglass.

Nothing negative to the owner if he/she checks the boards, as the interior and the overall paint appear to be very nicely done.

A quick post search reveals that he is obviously a dealer, so I think that you can be as objective (ie critical) as you want without ruffling feathers. He only posts to sell.

You're right.. the rear is not right.. its missing the chrome deco. The front looks like it is fiberglass.. but a copy of an S bumper its correct..

Yeah, after reading again this is a dealer I think.. possibly full of slimey tricks.. Its priced quite well if its got all its bits n pieces.. but its missing the deco in front and rear and those rockers annoy me... and its not sand beige but medium ivory maybe which I like a LOT..

Interior looks sweet too... the houndstooth is killer.

Could be a real deal if it just needs some trim work.. but Id like to see it flipped over.. the rocker paint troubles me.. there was a reason for it.. and its probably not a good reason. I didnt think it was stock...

Hey, you dont have any sort of chip guard coating on yours either right? Its just paint correct?

My intent wasnt to beat up on the sale.. I was just blown away when I saw sand beige but the color was different than mine..

Sorry about my comments to the dealer if he sees them... but this is the wrong car to set up to sell like a chevy cavalier. Id remove that black trim in the rear if its not right.. would be better off gone.

I would love to see this car in person... sure looks sweet for the price..
Edit: He must have just had a long day and mis typed:

f/s 1969 911T COUPE IVORY/TAN 75,900 ORIGINAL MILES

As far as any chip guard coating... no, nothing like it. Just good ole paint.

Although the previous owner did a mediocre paint job on it, I have never even heard of some type of chip guard. I have thought about it when paint time comes, but as a P-car purist, and the fact the car will most likely only be driven in ideal climate with ideal roads.. I don't think I will be doing anything like that.

Would you mind emailing me some pics of your car? My dad and I are in slow motion resto with ours, but luckily there isn't much to do, and the stuff thats needs to be done, is the most expensive stuff (headliner, window seals, dash) Thanks!!

I could, but there is not much to see.. its in its final body work stages before paint.. Interior is all out etc.. just looks like any old 911 in primer.. when its done I'll post some pics here..

this is the disaster that it was when I bought it.. god I hate this color..

Wow, looks like someone got a hold of some Honda Civic SI paint. Thank you for saving that car. As you can see with mine, the PO tried getting the color as close to Bahama as possible, but also "updated" the mirrors... and just totally forgot about the the interior

Sand Beige. Definitely looks like an Ivory...too light and there's "no color" to speak of.

Painted rockers do happen. A previous owner did this...I'm guessing early 70s or early 80s. It's matt finish, almost like an undercoating and wears like iron, so I've never changed it. Not the best angle, but you get the idea.
