Post rear strut missing?

Is there supposed to be a strut on the engine lid? My car (81 SC) does not have one and I am tired of keeping it up with the back of my head! Can I engineer a front strut to hold it?

Hey you should have a mount already there on the left side hinge. I would guess that if you buy the shock and the clip that holds it in you will be able to put one back in.
Check to see if there is a mount there first.
The sound pad is probally covering it up.
If you have any more questions just ask.

Not sure about an SC, but look in the engine compartment on the left side...on the top of the compartment, and there should be a little place to attach a shock. They are different from the front. I think smaller. If I can find a picture, I will post it for ya.

Make sure you get the pin for attaching as well, because using a screw & nut can be a PITA.
