Another Newbie

Hello Everyone;

I just bought my 1980 911SC in November. I'm in Alaska & its in storage in Idaho.
My plan is to go thru it over the next three years, before I retire & while I still have cashflow. I've attached a few low resolution pics. She's a little rough but not rusty! This is a Great site & I'm sure I will learn (and Spend) Alot! Please be patient with my newbie questions. I Promise to do an exhaustive Search BEFORE I ask a question!

Richard

Congratulations! Nice car!

Welcome aboard and although you didn't ask, I would still advise you to start saving the P-dollars every month while there is cash flow.

All the best in Alaska.

Great looking car, amigo! SC's are wonderful, that's a neat color, and ducktails are the BOMB! Have fun and don't sweat the "newbie questions." That's why these boards are here...

Sweet car! I welcome to the board of PORSCHE afficionados! You will learn much on this forum. Love that color and good choice on a SC.

Congratulations, it looks like you found yourself a good lookin' car with some nice upgrades: dual exhaust, and the duck tail, and probably more that I can't see. However, I'm concerned that your SC may have an identity crisis because of the Carrera badge on its engine lid.

That car looks great! Welcome to the board, and as others have said, ask away. That's what this forum is for and it allows you to really begin to feel like you're an integral part of the board.

Welcome to the Pelican boards! Nice car too. Good choice buying an SC...hey, why does it say Carrera? Of course, it could just be the duck tail was on a Carrera lid.
Have fun with the car.

Your 911 looks awesome!

Make sure she is in sound mechanical condition, then have the time of your life driving her.

Congratulations.

Thanks for the Posts Everyone!

I'm lucky in that I have all the service records since 1983. The chassis has 121k on it & the motor & trans about 1k. Lot's of updates! Best part is that it is All There. Previous owner ran into hard times (we've all been there), I talked to the owner of the Porsche shop where it was rebuilt & had been serviced for the past years & I basically bought it for the amount of the repair bill.

Re; the Carrera decklid script; obviouly placed there by the previous owner; however, I like it!

Happy Holidays All!

Now, if I can just figure out how to change my user ID to NakNek911SC

Richard

Welcome, car looks nice! If you haven't done so already, make sure there is fuel stabilizer in the tank over the long Idaho winter storage period.

Great car. The projects can wait, so get it out of storage and drive like you stole it. Welcome to the board.
