Custom Plate, which one should I pick?

I just got my notification that the DMV has both of my Custom Plates.

Which one should I keep?

85 IXII

or

8CMXI5

Translation

85 911 (Incorrect Roman Numerals, I know)

8 911 5

EarlyPorsche 12-19-2008 08:27 PM

Honestly...neither.

I have to agree.

DRACO A5OG 12-19-2008 08:30 PM

I was afraid of that. That is why I did not post a 3rd option "neither". Thanks for the input though :D

But if you had to choose which one?

TimT 12-19-2008 08:30 PM

None of the above

snbush67 12-19-2008 08:32 PM

The middle one.

DRACO A5OG 12-19-2008 08:35 PM

Oh no, I guess I deserve this, LOL :D

equality72521 12-19-2008 08:35 PM

Well, 911 is CMXI

Dcam49 12-19-2008 08:40 PM

Both are a bit confusing, too many idiots on the road would get brain freeze trying to figure them out.

Steve W 12-19-2008 09:08 PM

Jim, if you want "8 911 5", why don't you just get that? It's available. Roman numerals are too confusing.

Last I looked, "vanity" was not a virtue but a vice.

DRACO A5OG 12-19-2008 09:15 PM

Hey Steve!,

I tried that, but once you go to the next step to pay, it is not available. Very retarded gov system. Thanks Brother!

I am leaning toward 8CMXI5, subtle and doesn't appear to be a vanity plate.

pwd72s 12-19-2008 09:19 PM

What? You plan on paying extra to get the State of California out of debt?

DRACO A5OG 12-19-2008 09:21 PM

Hell, I got to be a good citizen you know :)

slodave 12-20-2008 12:58 AM

I'd get "neither". That'll really confuse them!

Gogar 12-20-2008 06:52 AM

And then get a tattoo of the word "TATTOO."

Pele911 12-20-2008 03:44 PM

Neither are very clever so I say neither!

Winter 12-20-2008 03:48 PM

Yup, I vote for Neither. It's a good one. The best choice by far. . .d

Jeez give the guy a break. I vote number 1.

carlosR 12-20-2008 04:11 PM

85IXII would be my choice. Hey it's your car, your money. I wanted Germania for mine but too many letters.....

Por_sha911 12-20-2008 05:40 PM

C) None of the above. (hey, you asked)

Hey, I have Roman numerals.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1229827997.jpg

They are only confusing to non-Romans.

jlex 12-20-2008 05:55 PM

See if you can get NONE on your plate. If they try to ticket you for speeding or parking violation, the authorities may think the vehicle had no plate & they won't know who to charge...

jlex.

911Rob 12-20-2008 07:12 PM

I immediately thought (c) too ;)

You actually gave me the idea of 85 IXXI, do alot of people give you grief about the incorrect roman numerals?

No, most people don't even know.
They ask me what it means, and I have to explain the middle year Porsche part.
That makes me look like an expert.

When it comes to being wrong about the numeral sequence, nobody knows the difference.

I would like VIIV IXXI. Too many spaces, but it balances well.
Soon enough they will have to have eight.
