Question Rattling e-brake

I recently replaced the e-brake shoes. Really a new feeling, also having removed all the gunk.
Now I have a rattling sound at 3400-3600 RPM which is obviously coming from the e-brake cable. It is pretty loose, esp. where the tube fitting (thread) enters the brake.
Any idea how to fix/clamp the cable or something else (hopefully w/o removing everything)?

Thanks,

Jens

My understanding is that both Ebrake cables should have identical play at the back of either rear brake plate, where your Ebrake cable goes in. The condition you describe sounds like an uneven Ebrake cable adjustment.

I would lift the boot on your emergency brake and note down the holes behind the brake to see if the bar holding the cable ends is truly "square" or if it is pulled to one side or the other.

Also, I believe the Ebrake cables run through the same strap tie that the heater control cables run through...maybe one of your Ebrake cables escaped this?
