Make sure the coil wire didn't back out. I used Magnecors and I had no end of trouble with the boots slipping.

Yea I did, also put original coil wire back in just to test it. Milt gave me a checklist when I had problems before, I need to check that Im getting that spark to the wire. Just wanted to see if someone knew something about new wires causing another problem. I have all new parts for the dist but I dont wanted to noarrow the cause down first before I go there.
thanks

back to basics, is there spark at the coil wire while cranking? if so, maybe put the old wires back in to eliminate the new wires as the problem. I've had many instances where things that seemed related weren't, just a coincidence.
maybe you bumped/moved something during installation ( like a distributor cap ) and it was loose enough to subsequently disconnect itself? most times my car has done this kind of thing it was something I did without realizing I did it. ( if that makes any sense ) . Last edited by haycait911; 12-22-2008 at 12:47 AM.. |

Your CDI could have been toasted or the coil may have failed.
Borrow and try to replace. John
