My Ruf CTR in Excellence

After lurking for a few years on this BBS and benefiting from the collective knowledge shared here by many dedicated and unselfish Porsche enthusiasts, I want to formally introduce myself and my car to this amazing international forum of hands-on 911 owner/drivers.
I have been a Porsche enthusiast since I was 12-years old (1957) and writing letters to the factory for brochures and photos. My current sports car is actually not a Porsche but a Ruf CTR and the story of how I got it home here to eastern Ontario, Canada is told in the current issue of Excellence. I know Ruf cars have a special significance for many Porsche owners and I hope you enjoy my story and the great photos by Ian Kuah.
I understand that newbies (or in my case near-newbies) must post a photo of their car so I have included the following image at Pfaffenhausen when my car was finished and ready for delivery.

Paulo

It was a pleasant surprise to see your car in this month's Excellence magazine since you and I actually spoke briefly one Tuesday evening this summer when you brought it out to the car cruise in Kanata. Thanks for putting Ottawa on the map!

Nice to "see" you here. Beautiful car and congrats on finally getting it home. I really prefer the CTRs like yours without those air intakes on the rear fenders.

paulo,

Thank you for sharing your story. I very much enjoyed the article. While I won't argue with your decision to post a "newbie" picture, you don't fit the classic definition...

Alois came to your home - I am amazed, but not surprised in the least. You must be the coolest kid on the block, if you weren't prior to this.

Perhaps you could shed some light on some of Ruf's unique re-engineering of Porsche tech? I am surely not alone in wondering how Motronic engine management is best adapted for forced induction - or how the Ruf 6-speed was developed.

Congratulations on an exceptional car. Thank you again.

Chris

Your CTR is one of the most stunning cars around. I love the red. My only question: where can you drive that missile at the double-century it was designed for? You (or a hired-gun) really ought to. I see a follow-up piece for Pete Stout and Excellence...

Nice

Great Article. I bet that was nice to have RUF show up at the door. Have fun with the car, it seems to be brand new at this point.

And by the way, I cannot believe how expensive (the entire trip with taxes) it was to get it into Canada.

If you would like to send it to me in CA, I would be happy to drive it until Spring!!!

Love the article in Excellence, I am one in belief that RUF is the most revered tuner in the world regardless of what make is chosen. Hope to see you (& that wunder-car) around the forum, congratulations on the ownership!!! BTW ther is never such a thing as enough pics., just flood us with'em if you wish, I can never get enough of that RUF machine!!!
