Should I reconnect the throttle valve compensator?
 

Hello pelicans I am new here but I have a question that I couldn't find in my searches. My mechanic has disconnected the throttle valve compensator on my car and said it makes no difference. I haven't had a chance to take a long enough drive to notice any difference because the weather does not permit it. My question is should I connect it or is it really insignificant? The car in question is a 1969 911t 2.0 Lt with webers and no engine mods. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Can it be removed from the engine compartment easily?

I agree with John as he is a quality resource for sound advice. I have seen this part disengaged on both 911's and 912's and its removal has not impact. I amy be wrong, but it is my understanding all it did was adjust the throttle return.

It was part of the factory's attempt to reduce emissions in '69 (only year). The throttle compensator slows down the throttle closing rate during deceleration to minimize excess fuel drawn into the engine when engine vacuum is highest.

You can remove the components and/or merely disconnect and plug the vacuum line ports at the passenger side intake manifold.

Take pics before removal in case you want to reinstall it 20 years from now.
