help, need an inspection for the bank
I posted this over in the 930 forum as well, but am in need of some direction on this...
I am about to purchase a Euro 930 (82') and have been told by the bank that I am getting the loan from that I must have a certified inspection done to prove the value of the car for the loan..... Any suggestions on where I might be able to go for this? Insurance company?? Maybe my shop?? I have never had to do this and at a loss for what to do or where to look, or who to call. Thought you guys might have had to do the same thing.... Thanks.

The bank may have some ideas of what others have done.

Inspection or appraisal? Contact your local PCA Region for an appraisal. Or check Excellence Magazine Market updates.
I agree with Grady...if the bank wants an inspection, ask them who they recommend...What type of "inspection" do they want? Are they establishing value or DOT and NHSTA compliance? I had to do this with an "over restored" 1974 914-4 Limited Edition that was being insured for $14,000...the Gal from the insurance company looked at it and was like "Wow what a pretty Porsche, does it have an alarm or air bags"...me, "No it is a 1974". Ok, no problem I'll get a few pictures... Sorry this isn't much help... Just commiseration on you situation...Hope you can get the $$$ for the 930. Coop

Finally...a legitimate use of TARP funds. On an '82 no less. Someone please notify Congress us Pelicans are doing our best to get the economy moving again.
![]() Banks usually get to choose the appraiser, else-wise it doesn't have much validity in establishing a basis for the loan. |

They have said that I can get the appraisal done anywhere, as long as it can be certified value of the car....
I would figure that since they require the appraisal that they would have a specific place for me to go to....
