Q: Can you run the stock coil with permatune CDI?
I purchased a rebuilt, low mile engine for my car and it has a std stock coil. It appears to run fine with the permatune CDI, but I do also have a permatune coil from the other engine kicking around. Does it really matter? Permatune seemed to indicate that only their coils are appropriate!?
As an aside, the voltage regulator failed as soon as I got home. Had to pull the alternator to determine which alternator the new engine had, which gave me convenient excuse to drop the fan and housing off @ the powder coaters. The slippery slope...I'm now eyeing GTS seats too. Roth IRA...bah... ![]()
