sticking gas door

does anyone have an easy or good way to lubricate the cable that operates the gas door. I can't get anything in the area to lube.

You can take the cable out to lube it. It's a bit of a PITA, and it's a 2 person job putting the cable back in. The clamp by the fuel door latch needs to be held with something (needle nose vise grips?) when undoing the screw or the cable will kink & break. Once it's off, the cable just pulls out.
