70 911 Turn Signal Problem

HELP!!!!!

I'd appreciate any guidance from you early 911 Porsche Pushers.........

My flasher switch/relay is clicking when I use my column turn signal but I get no outside turn signal when I have it going left, the inside indicator works........when I have it going to the right I get no inside indicator light but my outside lights work.

I've got a new switch/relay but everything else is as built.........before I tear the whole thing apart and go on a wiring diagram adventure is there another relay or connection point that I should check.

It's possible you may need to open up the signals themselves and clean/burnish the bulb sockets and contacts. They get dirty and you'll spend forever chasing wiring and stuff all the way through the car and find out it was a bulb socket.

Take the bulb lenses off, and get the signal stalk on "left" where it's working inside. Then get out to a bulb and jiggle and turn just a little bit. It's possible you may get a bulb to start working and that's an indicator that the sockets are dirty.

All this said, the steering column switch is known to get worn out and need replacing.
