Window removal question
 

I am getting ready to pull the windows from my 84 Carrera, can I save the rubber. I know in all my other cars it is a no, but can I save the rubber on this car? I am pulling all the glass.

If it is original, you would probably be better suited to get new. If it is still soft you could probably still use it just most will say get new.

It can be done if you go around the inside and get the rubber gasket over the edge of the metal that is holding it in. I've done it succesfully on my car. Best bet would be to get new gaskets though.

I'm going to replace the windshield on my '84. I'm guesing the rubber is original and just finished ordering a new seal (I understand Porsche OEM is the only way to go ofr proper fit).

The only time I've helped replace a windshield, we actually bevel-cut the seal from the outside so the anodized trim could be lifted out without bending. However you do it, be careful with the trim.

I think this rubber is fairly new, the car has been painted once. If I buy new, where is the best and cheapest source?
