The other night I was pulling out of the garage to head out to poker. Turned on the lights and ... nothing. Had to drive the minivan that night
![]() Since it was Friday night, I had time the next day to investigate. Popped the fuse cover and realized that I had 8 missing fuses!?! Spent a few moments trying to figure out who played the joke on me, and then went to replace the fuses anyway. The only problem was, the fuses wouldn't stay in the clips. Turned out the #2 fuse block split long ways and the whole set of fuses simply fell out. Pelican came to the rescue and got the parts and the Bentley service manual. Now I can drive at night again. I was very impressed with the manual but had a problem with the electrical diagrams and was hoping someone with the Porsche manuals could help. There are several diagrams with an arrow to an "interior lights system". Seems that page never made the book. As I was working on lighting issues, I spent some time trying to find it but eventually gave up. The question is, what is on this page? Is it simply the instrument and glove box lights, or anything more important than that? Are the electrical diagrams simply a copy of the official manual? If not, are the electrical diagrams on the microfiche even readable? Finally, the number of wires attached to the fuse block in the car was different than the number indicated in the book. Were there so few cars built in ’88 that differences are to be expected or should I worry? ------------------ Steve 88 Targa |
