I always cover my cars in the garage to keep the cats off the paint and to protect against getting scratched by rakes, etc. Someone told me that doing this increases the chance of rust - is this true? I never put the cover on right after I have washed the car.

My covers biggest advantage is that it keep my kids from abusing my car. With is off, it is like a bright red beacon, inviting kids and neighbors to mess with it. With the cover on, it just blends into the garage. Use an all flanel or cotton one and make sure the car is clean before covering.
