993TT caliper assembly question

Hi,

I disassembled my 993TT for painting and rebuild. Now I am in the process of assembling and wonder if anyone knows the torque value for the 4 large allen bolts that hold the two parts of the caliper together... Bill maybe!?

Thanks

They no longer release that data, as you aren't supposed to take them apart,

the last published #s that I've seen are fo r the pld 930 Brembos where the M12x1.5mm bolts were torqued to 60NM

Hi Bill,

Can I ask you why arenīt you supposed to take them apart. Is there any problem with that? Thanks

The factory manual says so........ Actually I believe The later Brembos like the 993 use a M10 and M12 (two of each). I got some used rear (968?? can't recall) calipers that were missing two of the bolts and had to replace one of each. One was M10x1.5 80mm length and the other was M12x1.75 80mm length. The front calipers, since they're much larger, may use all M12?

I don't have the 993 manual handy at this time, otherwise i'd pull one of the sheets from it and screencap a portion of it

The legal system being what it is , I suspect that may be the reason.

There really is no reason to have to split them as all maintainance can be done as a unit.

As Kevin said, the bolts aren't the same as on the 930s, those where just the last for which specs were provided.
