Temecula Palomar Wine Run March 7th.
All updates on this thread on Rennlist:Wine Run
Date is March 7th! I thought while sitting with the wife today at South Coast Winery in Temecula about getting another run going up Palomar etc. and ending up at one of the wineries for lunch. It's early enough to get a good group and still cool outside for the 993s.....Last year was nice, some of us meet the families at the winery for lunch so it was easier to get away for the morning. I mean, who is going to tell you "No way! You're not dragging me to a winery for lunch." Is there an interest? Here's the link to the last one. I am interested!

okay; twist my arm. any possible dates?
Definitely interested. We haven't done a Palomar run for a long time. With a few weeks notice so that people can plan, we ought to be able to get a good group together.
I was thinking the first week. Saturday the 7th sounds good. Looks like there's not much going on at the PCA that month. (Last time we conflicted with a run they were doing.) So it'll be easier to get a lot of folks. It really was a blast last time too.
The earlier in the month, the better for me, so 3/7 looks OK at this time.
I am too far away, but very envious. I love Temecula wine country.
If schedule allows I'm in.
I've never been on a run before... Can you explain how the run structured?
It's pretty laid back, Normally they run two groups. (Or it ends up that way). One group who likes a little (legal) speed, and the other that prefers a more cruise type trip.
We meet up at a coffee house and leave at a scheduled time( between 6-7am). The earlier the better since Palomar is a popular road used by bikes, bicycles, and cars. From the coffee house we head up to Palomar, stop at the top then head back down. There are other roads we take afterwards. All are really fun roads. Afterwards we end up at one of the wineries. My family and other families meet us at the winery last time. After the winery we're all on our own. Some people did not go to the lunch so that's fine too but the lunch really finishes the ride nicely. There's plenty of time through the trip to take photos and talk about cars and meet new people. It's a good time. |

We're up to 20 interested so far! Including one Exige.

I am interested.
Where would the starting point be? |
Since the drivers are coming from LA and San Diego we met last time in Temecula at a coffee shop. The loop is approx 108 miles total.
I picked the group up along the way near Harrah's Rincon Casino one time, one time went to the Starbuck's. It's probably easier (and makes for some good conversation) when the group starts at one point. Probably does more to wake up the other customers than caffeine!

Saturday night bump! 22 interested so far!
have we come up with a date?
Crap yes, March 7th.
Sorry to make you repeat, but starting time is appx 8am at a coffee shop in Temecula? Any one in particular? March 7 looks good for us, so we're expecting to participate. Let's hope for weather like we've had this weekend!
8:00 is pretty late. We'll should probably be on the move by about 7:30am.
