Removing under-dash AC console

Hi all;

Am in the process of removing the bits and pieces of the useless AC in my mid-year car.

I have the under-dash style vents which are screwed in to the knee pads. The vent console has a wiring harness which seems to disappear in to the bottom of the car.

I'd like to remove it intact in case someone wants the vent console; can anyone advise as to where the harness inserts? Should it simply "unplug", or will I have to chop it out?

TIA!

EDIT: They are the Behr thin vents...

Hi Peter, i've recently done this on my mid year, you should be able to get the harness out in one piece, the harness should go back to a relay, mine was mounted near the fan motors, and the fuse box. make sure you disconnect the battery terminal before you start mucking around.
I think I've some pix at home if you want.
cheers
